The Department of Commerce (Computer Applications) was established in the year 2000-2001. The Department became a Post-Graduate Department offering M.Com (Computer Applications) in the year 2002-2003. In 2015, the Department was upgraded as Research Department offering M.Phil (Full-time and Part-time).
Commerce with Computer Applications course offers a program of study to meet the significant increase in demand for Computer Scientists with an accounting background. Providing both the technical Skills for Computer Science and the Accounting and Business skills of a Commerce degree, the dual qualification enhances student's knowledge of both the business and the IT Sectors, and gives them considerable flexibility in career choice.

Department of Commerce (Computer Applications) is stretching itself to train student in updating the market requirement. All the activities are tuned to inculcate employability skills in the students. Necessary soft skills training are given prime importance as the department is well aware of the current trends. Students are provided soft skills training programme in order to prepare them for campus interview.
Wide variety of topics like Time Management, Interview skills, Business Writing is regularly dealt with Innovative teaching methodologies are incorporated to make the class room more conductive for learning. Faculties adapt methodologies which would pave way for the students to shed their inhibitions and express better. The Department believes on giving the students the right input to ensure their success. The students are provide with quality education with good infrastructure facilities like excellent teaching atmosphere, well furnished class room etc.,

He Enlightened about “PROS and CONS of GST in INDIA” in technical session. Nearly 280 students from our college along with staff members participated in this Programme.
PG & Research Department of Commerce & Commerce(CA) has conducted a One day International symposium on 7.9.2016. The Technical session I was handled by Dr.S.Nakkiran, M.Com., M.Phil., Ph.D., Professor, Co-operative Management & Co-ordinator for Ph.D., Programme, Ambo University, Ethiopia under the topic ”Business challenges under Globalisation”. In the Technical session II, the debate on “IS SOCIAL MEDIA-SOCIABLE OR UNSOCIABLE,” was conducted and judged by Dr.N.Sakthivel, M.Com., M.B.A., M.Phil., PGDCA., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Commerce, Gobi Arts & Science College, Gobi. Nearly 205 students from various colleges & 200 students from our college along with staff members were participated in this symposium.
PG & Research Department of Commerce (CA) has conducted a One day Guest Lecture programme on 5.7.2016. The topic was “Creativity for Success”. Dr.P.Karthikeyan MBA., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Kongu Engineering College, Erode was the Resource person. More than 250 Students and 10 Staff Members have attended this Guest Lecture programme.

Dr.N.Vasudevan Assistant Professor, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekanandha College, Chennai was the resource person. 300 students along with staff members have attented this seminar.
PG & Research Department of Commerce has been conducted One day symposium on 14-09-2015. The topic was “CORPORATE EMPLOYABLE SKILLS”. Dr.S.Saravanakumar, M.Sc., MBA., M.Phil., Ph.D., Associate professor, Government Arts College, Salem was the resource person. 310 students from 16 colleges in and around Tamil Nadu have participated in this symposium. From commerce department of BCAS 100 students along with staff members have attended this symposium.

Mr.S.Vijayakumar, M.Com., M.Phil., MBA., PGDCA., Placement Officer, Angel Engineering and Technologies, Tirupur was the resource person. 300 students along with staff members have attended this seminar.

The college has distributed free saplings to the Govt Hr.Sec. school, bungalowpudhur on 18.01.2018 at 12.00 PM. The Head master, Teachers and students of the school have received the saplings. Dr.R.S.Mohanprakash, Assistant Professor of Commerce (CA) and Public Relation Officer Mr.S.Nandhakumar have participated in the programme. More than 250 saplings have been distributed.
