2024-2025

   Youth Red Cross and National service scheme of Bharathidasan college of Arts and Science has conducted an “Swachh Bharat Abiyan” cleaning activity at our college campus. on 04.10.2024 .More than 50 students from our YRC and NSS Volunteers  were actively participated and clean the campus. 

 

        Red  Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross of  Bharathidasan college of Arts and  Science jointly Organized  with Tamilnadu AIDS Prevention Control unit, Erode District of Tamilnadu conducted “ Youth Awakening Day Online quiz on the title of Inspiring Thoughts of Abdulkalam  and AIDS Awareness Flash , Human chain “ on 18.10.2024 at  our college Campus.  Our District Programme Manager Mr.P.Duraisamy  Inaugurated this events. This programme was conducted  as to create awareness and educate the students about AIDS, its symptoms, mode of infection, and measures to control the disease. More than 100 students and faculty members actively participated in this programme.        

    

Youth Red Cross and Red Ribbon Club Jointly Organized “Suicide Awareness Prevention Pledge”  on account of “World Suicide Prevention Day” on 10.09.2024 at Bharathiar Arangam. This event was a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about suicide and promoting efforts to prevent and encourage open discussions and support to address this crucial issue and save lives. This pledge to advocate eliminating the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health. More than 100 students from our college along 
With faculty members actively participated in this programme.

National Service Scheme, Red Ribbon Club and Youth Red Cross of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science have jointly organized and distributed Albendazole Tablets to the students on account of National Deforming Day (NDD) on 23.08.2024 at Thiruvalluvar Arangam as per Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine order.  The Resource person Mr.Jeganraj, MCA, M.S.W,Social Activist,Ekam Foundation Chennai has shared valuable information about consuming Albendazole and adapting sanitation-hygenic practices and washing techniques. The session was interactive with more than 100 students and faculty members. 

 

Youth Red Cross of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science conducted “Organ Donation and CPR Awareness program” on 13.08.2024The resource person Dr.K M.Abdulhasan Erode City Hospital imparted training on first Aid.  and Dr.D.Saravanan , Erode Abirami Kidney Care Nephrology highlighted the benefits of organ donation and the importance it brings to others.  Dr.D.Saravanan honoured the families of Boopathi and Arumugam, who donated their organs due to brain death, by wrapping them in bonnets.

Youth Red Cross Club has conducted “Inauguration and Orientation Programme for YRC volunteers” on 05.08.2024 at Thiruvalluvar Arangam. The resource Person is Mr.M.Ravi MA., B.Ed, State Resource Person and Admin Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Erode district, He explained history of Red Cross, First aid training, Disaster management, Organ donation and benefits of blood donation etc.,. The volunteers has taken YRC pledge and gained awareness on the care of their own health and others. From this function they get more information of our Civic responsibilities. 160 YRC volunteers from our college along with faculty members were participated in this programme.  

2021-2022

Youth Red Cross of Bharathidasan College  of Arts Science, ErodeLions Club, Erode, Asisi Hospital, Thalavadi and Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore jointly organized  “ Free Eye Camp” on 27.11.2021(Saturday) at Asisi Hospital, Thalavadi. Over 500 People were in and around Thalavadi are participated in this camp.

 

 

2019-2020

YRC conducted womens awareness programme entitled “THIS IS NOT END “on 19.09.2019.Dr.Kavithasubramaniam,MBBS.,DPM., consultant Psychiatrist, Government Hospital,Anthiyur.was the chief guest. She clearly explained about the Women’s problem and its solution. Besides she has given the tips for women’s how to face the problems in and around the regions.

Aadhivanam foundation organized larger Miyawaki plantation (Phase I, Event 7) at Sip cot Perundurai on 25.08.2019.YRC in association with Erode Lions Club supported in the Tree Plantation. Dr.C.Ragunath, Managing Trustees ,Aadhivanam Foundation was inaugurated the programme

Review Meeting for YRC Programme Officers held at Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science,Erode.Dr.M.Raju,YRC District organiser,Erode,Dr.P.Chellsamy,YRC Zonal Coordinator,Dr.M.K.Vinayagamoorthy,YRC District organiser,Tirupur and Mr. John Thomas,IRCS,District Secretary, Erode Branch have attended and presided the meeting. Besides YRC programme officers came from various colleges and attended the meeting.

Youth Red Cross organized DengueAwareness Programme on 31.07.2019.Mr.L.Sankar,Health Inspector,Periapuliyur was the Chief Guest.He clearly explained the feautures of dengue and swine flu in the program

 

Youth Red Cross organized Awareness Programme about Youth    Red Cross and its salient Features on 18.07.2019.Mr.M.Ravi,Joint Secratery,Indian Red Cross Socity,Erode was the Chief Guest.

Youth Red Cross in Association with Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Erode organised two days “Free Eye Check-up Camp” on 15.07.2019 and 16.07.2019 in our college.Mr.P.Manikandan, Vasan Eye Care Hospital was the Chief Guest.

 

2018 - 2019

Youth Red Cross conducted campus cleaning programme on 08-09-2019.

The volunteers of YRC sowed palm seeds in and around the college campus on  16.10.2018.Thiru.V.R.Murugan,Treasurer,Bharathidasan  Institutions,Dr.M.Ramamoorthi,Principal,Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science,Felicitated the Function.Mr.S.Gowrishankar,Vise President of Thulirgal and Mr.V.M.Velu,Member of Erode Thulirgal were inaugurated and planted palm seeds in campus.Besides YRC Volunteers went outside to plant the palm seeds. Ms.K.R.Sathyabama, Revenue Inspector, Kanjikovil, Ms.P.Gomathi village Administrative Officer, Pallapalayam (B) and Mr.M.Gunasekaran Village Administrative officer, Pallapalayam (A), supervised and planted the palm seeds in Ellispettai and Kanjikovil.

Youth Red Cross organized two days “Junior Red Cross Training Camp” For Erode District school student on 31-01-2019 and 01-02-2019.One hundred junior student’s volunteers and fifty teacher counsellors from various schools participated in this camp.

 

2017 - 2018

Youth Red Cross conducted campus cleaning programme on 09-01-2018.

Youth Red Cross organized Awareness programme on “Disaster Management and First Aid “on 26-10-2017 in our college .Mr.G.Arumugam, Training officer, South Regional India, National Disaster Management Authority (Govt.of.India), New Delhi was the Chief Guest.

 Youth Red Cross club members planted saplings in our campus on 15-08-2017.

2016 - 2017

Mr.S.Sathis kumar, Asst.Professor of Management, has attended three days “Disaster Management Training Programme”from  08-08-2016 to 10-08-2016 at Indian Red Cross Society, Chennai.    Mr.S.Sathiskumar, Asst.professor of Management Mr.R.Sankar and Mr.N.S.Sakthivel, Asst.Professors of Computer Science have attended three days training programme on “Youth Education Programme” From 14-10-2016 to16-10-2016 which was conducted by Indian Red Cross Society at Red Cross centre, Gobichettipalayam.    Youth Red Cross conducted an awareness programme on “Swine Flu” to the village people.

 

Youth Red Cross organized a Human chain to create awareness about Hepatitis on the “World Hepatitis Day” on 28-07-2016 Ms.S.Manju, Asst.professor and Head Department of Microbiology and P.Nallasamy, Asst.professor of Microbiology were the resource persons. 

YRC volunteer, M.Siva prakash, III B.Sc (CS) has attended three days zonal level orientation training programme from 28-03-2016 to 30-03-2016 at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

2015 - 2016

Youth Red Cross organised two days “Eye Check up camp” in our college on 22.09.2015 and 23.09.2015.Dr.D.sasikumar, vice president, Vasan Eye care Hospital, Erode was the Chief Guest.

YRC conducted the valediction function on 09.01.2015. Mr.M.Ravi, Joint Secratery, Indian Red Cross Socity, Erode was the Chief Guest.

 

2014 - 2015

Youth Red Cross organized two days “Junior Red Cross Training Camp” For Erode District school student on 27-11-2014 and 28-11-2014.One hundred junior student’s volunteers and fifty teacher counsellors from various schools participated in this camp.Mr.V.Thomas John, Secretary-IRCS was the Chief Guest.
